Articles on: [API](/en/category/api-szk3rj/)

## Step One: Contact our customer support team

Register your interest in using Murf's API at our [get in touch](https://murf.ai/text-to-speech-api) section. A member of our team will reach out to you.

## Step Two: Generate API Keys and Secure them

Once our team has evaluated your request, we will provide you with an API key that will act as the primary authentication mechanism for you to access Murf API. Note that this key holds many privileges and must not be shared with anyone.

## Step Three: Generate Authentication Token

Your API key can be used to generate an authentication token which will be used to authenticate all your requests to Murf API. Authentication tokens have a validity of 30 minutes and new tokens have to be created after that timeframe. Requests that don't contain the authentication token will be unsuccessful.
